Reading and Illustrations (IT)

In this interactive lesson, students join a character named Loko on a travel adventure, learning to read and understand illustrations. The session begins with an introduction to the importance of visuals in understanding text. Students then engage with different slides of a picture, answering questions as they 'read' the image. The focus is on signs used in places like train stations and airports. An optional tongue twister activity can break up the session if needed. Towards the end, students participate in an independent practice activity called 'Match It Right', matching text features or purposes with signs in the picture. The session concludes with a summary and an exit slip for assessment.
