To measure this specific distance, a new unit evolved which is known as radian or the degree in modern mathematics.
Several Greek & Babylonian astronomers and mathematicians such as Timocharis & Archimedes defined this radial distance by dividing the circle into 60 equal parts, known as 60 arc minutes. Later, the circle was divided into 360 equal parts and defined the each unit distance as “1 degree”.

How to create angles
To create an angle of a certain degree, two lines are drawn. The first line is a straight base line (from the center to the number 0) as marked on the protractor. For the other line, the respective degree is marked first on the outer of the protractor. This point is joined to the beginning point of the first line to create the required angle.
