What is “measurement”?
Definition of measurement at this level is classified as per the quantity. “Measurement” in the practical aspect refers to the defined magnitude of a quantity or figure in globally accepted standard units. Time measurement
Time measurement is used for evaluating the time interval or the duration required to perform a task. Contemporary time measurement devices are wall-clocks, wrist-watch, stopwatch, and calendar.
Each analog clock has 12 equal divisions. Each division has 5 minutes. A usual analog clock has 3 hands. These hands are second, minute and hour hand. The hour hand is smaller than a minute hand. Whereas, the second hand is a relatively thinnest hand on a clock. Also, it has a continuous motion.

How to read and record time?
The three hands on an analog clock complete the rotations in the defined magnitude to display the correct time. Starting from number 12, the following is the rotation cycle:
- The second-hand moves from right to left till number 6 and left to right till number 12 to complete a minute. 60 divisions, each of 1 second complete 1 minute
- With each rotation of “second” hand, “minute” hand moves further by 1 minute
- A “minute” hand moves from right to left till number 6 and left to right till number 12 to complete 1 hour
- To calculate the number of minutes elapsed for the respective hour, multiply the number pointed by the “minute” hand to 5
- With each rotation of “minute” hand, “hour” hand moves from one number to the proceeding number

To record a time, check the numbers pointed by each hand.
For example, if hour hand points to number 2 and minute hand points to number 3, then the time will be calculated by multiplying the number 3 to 5. It will be written as:

- Weight/mass measurement – The amount evaluated to weigh an object which is solid in shape. It determines how heavy the object is?
- Volume/capacity measurement – The space an object (in liquid form) takes up is the volume. For a hollow object, the volume is the amount of liquid that object can hold.
Thus, the measurement units for the weights of solids and volume are different.
Application
Weight and volume measurement are widely used to portion the food items. Different weighing scales are used to weigh human body weight for the general and medical purpose. Measurement of food items as per recipe directions is applied in the preparation of gourmet foods.
Volume measurement is used to measure liquids such as juices, syrup, oil, water, and gasoline. With defined capacity, the suitable volume is filled in the containers to hold the liquid. For example, a full carafe measures 750 ml or 25.3 U.S. fluid ounces. A lemonade drink requires one glass of water or 250 milliliters of water.
Weight and volume measurement are highly useful in maths and applied sciences. The instruments for measurement are used in laboratories to conduct tests and scientific research as well. To comprehend a large set of data for easy interpretation, graphical presentation methods such as the bar graphs and line plots are used.
Different bars (vertical or horizontal) corresponding to figures and different categories are drawn to compare the data in bar graphs. For line plots, values are marked against a number line with equal divisions. These values are referred as frequency. Division on the line plot can change depending on the range of data.

Application:

The objects around can be measured using physical quantities like length, height, weight or volume (for liquids). Another measurable quantity of 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional objects is the “area” of that object.
It is defined as the number of unit squares contained in an object. The units of measurement are standard units of measurement (metric and US customary). As it’s a square, the unit used will be prefixed to it. For example, square meter, a square inch or square feet.

Application
