    For example, 

    The question is 12/3 divided by 4/3

    12/3 * 3/4

    1/1*3/1

    And the answer is 3.

    Using Pizza to Teach Fractions

    A Whole Number Divided By Another Whole Number

    Example -

    If we have 4 pizzas and these are to be divided between 3 kids, then-

    3/4 = 3/4

    Each kid will have 3/4 of a pizza.

    Fraction Divided By the Whole Number

    Example -

    If half of the pizza is to be divided between 8 kids, then -

     (½)/ 8 = 1/16

    Each kid will have 1/16 of the pizza.

    Whole Number Divided By A Fraction 

    Example -

    There are 4 pizzas. Each pizza has to be divided into 1/8 slice

    4/ (⅛)

    There will be 32 slices.

    Fraction Divided By A Fraction

    Example - 

    ¾ pizza has to be divided into ⅛ slices

    (¾)/(⅛)

     There will be 6 slices.

    Potential Problems

    Your child can face several problems when trying to divide fractions. First, they should know the difference between multiplication and division. Second, they should know how to multiply fractions for division questions because dividing fractions is tough without multiplication.

    Dividing fractions is an easy operation if you teach your kids to divide any number by 1 to make it a fraction if they are working with whole numbers in a fraction problem. That is, three will become 3/1

    3/1 = 3

    {(4*3)+3}/4=15/4
